365 finished!

This time 12 months ago I started a 365 project. I'm glad I did it but I'm not in a hurry to do it again. I took a photo most days, occasionally snapping two in one day if I missed one. It's very good to get to the end of it.  I took some photos that I really love & some that I don't and I did often feel that the whole project was a bit of a chore. But I persevered & overall I think that's a good thing.

So I'm ready to find another (less onerous) project :)

Here are some photos from the last 4 months of my 365....

March- a month of 50mm
April-  a month of perspectives (looking up/ looking down)
May- a month of daily life
June- a month of winter

a winter walk

So, yesterday was part 5 of my exploration of the Parramatta river. We started at Meadowbank & headed away from the harbour down the river towards Parramatta. We walked 15km all up, had lunch in Parramatta Park then headed home on the rivercat. This section of the river isn't as pretty as the parts closer to the harbour- quite brown & muddy but there was plenty to explore... historical buildings, bridges & bats (!) and it was a beautiful mostly sunny (but cool) winter's day.

on being a tourist in my own city

A few days ago I met Justine in the city & we attempted to do the tourist thing. We had an app to guide us through the hidden laneways in Sydney. It started off  very well. After a coffee at the Museum of Contemporary art we began the guided tour & discovered the history of some of the buildings in the laneways. Sadly however,  after a relatively short time our map reading skills let us down & we ended up doing our own thing :)
Nevertheless,  it's always lovely to spend a few hours in good company in our beautiful city on a glorious winter's day.

ten on ten

So, the tenth was a few days ago & I took ten photos over ten hours on the tenth of the month, as I do every month. We had a weekend away at the beach which was so lovely.

This is a bit of what our Friday looked like :

8.09am    looking out into our back garden
8.23am    morning shadows on our wall
9.45am    stripy shadows on Poppy's paws
11.14am  looking up through the sunroof, blue sky & winter trees
12.19pm  the last windy bit  of road through the bush
1.18pm    down to the beach for a walk
1.39pm    yellow daisies, wooden fence posts
2.20pm    thongs on the paving stones
3.02pm    gum nuts hanging off the washing line
5.54pm    cheese & biscuits & beer

the beach

Well, its winter in Sydney and after an extended summer we're beginning to feel a bit chilly. Last Saturday we went to the beach in the wild weather for a walk & some fish & chips. I love the beach just as much on these cold & windy days as I do in the summer.
